Tour of Magnificent Qinghai 2026 runs eight stages across the Tibetan Plateau at elevations above 3,000 meters. Henok Mulubrhan defends as a two-time winner (2023, 2025), and the race rewards altitude management and sustained climbing over multiple days in thin air. Mulubrhan has proven he can handle the extreme elevation. Cepeda won in 2024, bringing high-altitude pedigree from Ecuador. Tejada has the altitude background. Carr and Vinokurov bring experience at this level of racing. The race is unlike anything else on the calendar because altitude, not pure climbing watts, decides the GC.
