The Pan-American Cyclocross Championships run in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, November 7, with Andrew Strohmeyer defending the elite men’s title. The elite women’s race is harder to call: last year’s champion, Lizzy Gunsalus, needed a sprint to beat Canada’s Maghalie Rochette.
Where and when are the 2026 Pan-American Cyclocross Championships?
The races are on the grounds of the Armed Forces Retirement Home, the site of President Lincoln’s Summer Cottage and a home for U.S. veterans since 1851. DCCX, one of the largest cyclocross events in North America, is run by CXD Trek Bikes, DCMTB and Crosshairs Cycling.
Saturday’s championship program starts with the masters and works through the juniors and under-23s. The elite women start at 2:50 p.m. Eastern and the elite men at 3:50 p.m. On Sunday, November 8, the DCCX UCI races follow, with the elite women at 2:15 p.m. and the elite men at 3:30 p.m.
Can you watch the Pan-American Cyclocross Championships?
No livestream or TV broadcast has been announced for Saturday’s races. If one is confirmed, it will be on the watch page.
Can Strohmeyer repeat in the elite men’s race?
Strohmeyer won the 2025 title in Washington with a solo ride. Eric Brunner of Competitive Edge was second and Jules Van Kempen third, with Kerry Werner fourth.
Strohmeyer also arrives with a recent win. He took the UCI C1 at Kings CX in Deerfield Township, Ohio, on October 17 in 59:18, four seconds ahead of CXD Trek Bikes’ Miles Mattern, CXmagazine reported. Dylan Haynes was third in the same time as Mattern. Their team, CXD Trek Bikes, is one of the DCCX organizers.
Brunner has a title of his own. In December he soloed to the national championship in Fayetteville, Arkansas, 36 seconds clear. Strohmeyer is the favorite, and Brunner, second here last year and national champion since, is the obvious threat.
Who can win the elite women’s race?
Lizzy Gunsalus of CCB p/b Levine Law Group won last year’s title by beating Rochette in a sprint, with Sidney McGill of Canada third. A month later Gunsalus won her first national title in Fayetteville, ahead of Katherine and Alyssa Sarkisov.
McGill has the best recent form of the three. At Kings CX she was second on October 17, 20 seconds behind Manon Bakker, with Alyssa Sarkisov of CXD Trek Bikes third (CXmagazine). The next day she beat Bakker by one second (CXmagazine). Bakker is Dutch, so she cannot race for the Pan-American title. Whether Rochette or McGill start in Washington is not confirmed.
Is there a confirmed start list?
Not yet. The organizer’s registration page groups entries by category and says registration details are still to come, so it is not an official start list. It shows Allison Crow (Square1 Cycling) and Amelia Shea (Feedback Sports) in the elite women’s field. The favorites listed here are riders who stood on last year’s podium or won at Kings CX. Check the entries before relying on any of them.
