The profile again favors riders who can absorb constant friction and still finish with some speed left. Even without a summit finish, the route is selective enough to punish bad positioning.
How the stage could race
Because the bigger mountain stages are still ahead, some teams may hesitate to spend too much here. That opens the door to aggressive racing and another reduced sprint rather than a perfectly controlled bunch finish.

A punchy all-rounder with a reliable finish after a hard day should be favored.
