Région Pays de la Loire Tour is a four-day men's stage race held each April in northwestern France. The route typically moves through the Loire valley and the edges of Brittany, mixing rolling roads, exposed coastal stretches, and short climbs that favor versatile riders over pure climbers or sprinters.

Région Pays de la Loire Tour 2026 route overview

4 stages

The race is usually decided by accumulation rather than a single defining stage. Expect rolling parcours with short climbs in the 2-4 kilometer range, often placed late in the stage to shed pure sprinters without favoring pure climbers. Coastal stages can split on wind, and the final day often features a punchy circuit or a rolling road race that rewards aggressive racing over defensive time gaps. Time bonuses at stage finishes and intermediate sprints can matter more than the stopwatch, and the GC is typically decided by a rider who can stay near the front on every terrain type without needing a mountain or a long time trial to make the difference. Positioning into finales and the ability to respond to late attacks are more important than sustained climbing power.
