Stage 13 of the 2027 Tour de France runs 164 km from Aubenas to Montpellier on Friday, July 16, the second flat day in a row and the last one for the sprinters before the Massif Central. ASO counts about 1,500 meters of climbing.
The route leaves the Ardèche at Aubenas, passes Largentière and Lablachère, goes through Saint-Ambroix and Alès, crosses the Cévennes foothills at Anduze and Quissac, and drops to the plain at Saint-Mathieu-de-Tréviers and Castelnau-le-Lez, on the edge of Montpellier. Its highest point is early, at Largentière, 273 meters.
Montpellier last hosted a stage finish in 2016, when Peter Sagan won stage 11 from Carcassonne. Mark Cavendish won there in 2011 and André Greipel in 2013.
ProCyclingUK flags the Mistral and the Tramontane, the two winds of the region, as a risk for the bunch, and the peloton heads into the Cévennes for the Mende stage the next morning.
