Tour de France Femmes 2027 stage 2: Manchester to Sheffield

Manchester to Sheffield is 154 km through the Peak District, with the Winnats Pass and Jenkin Road, on roads the men's Tour used in 2014.

Stage 2 of the 2027 Tour de France Femmes runs 154 km from Manchester to Sheffield on Saturday, July 31, a hilly day with about 2,800 meters of climbing. It crosses the Peak District and is the first real test of the race.

The route leaves Manchester through Stockport, Marple and New Mills, climbs into the Peak District by the Winnats Pass and the Snake Pass, and finishes in Sheffield. The Winnats Pass is 1.4 km at 12.3 percent and the Snake Pass 5.4 km at 4.6 percent, according to ProCyclingUK.

The finale has the Côte d’Oughtibridge (1.5 km at 9.1 percent) and Jenkin Road (800 m at 10.8 percent), about 6 km from the finish. Both were on the men’s stage from York to Sheffield in 2014, which Vincenzo Nibali won after attacking with 2 km to go. ASO lists the stage as hilly; the finish suggests the climbers will see it as theirs.
