About Paris-Camembert

Paris-Camembert is a men's one-day bike race held each spring in Normandy, France. The route winds through rolling agricultural terrain between the Île-de-France and the Norman countryside, typically finishing in or near the town that gives the race its name.

Named for the famous Norman cheese, the race has long served as a proving ground for French talent.

This is French continental racing at its most honest: narrow roads, agricultural wind, short climbs that arrive without ceremony, and a peloton that includes hungry domestiques, regional specialists, and the occasional WorldTour rider looking for early-season sharpness. The race rewards positioning instinct over raw watts, and the finale often turns on a single acceleration rather than a long grind.

Paris-Camembert route

The course typically features a series of short, punchy climbs scattered across the second half, none individually decisive but cumulatively fatiguing. The roads are often narrow and exposed to crosswinds sweeping across open farmland, which can split the field before the finale. Positioning into the final 20 kilometers becomes critical as the peloton navigates technical sections and late accelerations. The finish usually suits a puncheur or a fast finisher who has survived the attrition, though breakaways have succeeded when the peloton misjudges the gap or fractures under wind pressure. Expect the race to be controlled until it suddenly isn't.
