About UEC Road European Championships

The UEC Road European Championships is the annual road championship of the European Cycling Union. National teams race for the European champion’s jersey in road races, individual time trials and mixed relays.

Also known as: Road Euros · European Road Championships · European Road Cycling Championships

The championships began as an event for under-23 riders; elite men and women have raced for the European title since 2016.

Why this race matters

It is a championship week rather than a single race. Riders start for their country, not their trade team, and the winner of each event wears the European champion’s jersey for a year.

2026 edition

Oct 2–7, 2026. Slovenia hosts 14 European title events from October 2 to 7: six road races, two mixed relays and six individual time trials.

The route

The host and the course change every year. The 2026 edition uses a 22.1 km circuit around Šenčur in Slovenia with the steep climb to Možjanca; the longer road races start in Ljubljana.
