PostNord Tour of Denmark 2026: sprints, time trial, and crosswinds across Denmark

PostNord Tour of Denmark 2026 runs five stages across Denmark with sprint finishes, a time trial, and wind-exposed roads. Mads Pedersen won in 2025 and 2023. The GC rewards sprinter-rouleurs who can handle crosswinds.

The PostNord Tour of Denmark is a sprinter's stage race with a tactical edge. Five stages across flat Danish terrain feature sprint finishes in technical town centers, a time trial that provides the clearest GC separation, and coastal or farmland roads where crosswinds can split the peloton and produce surprise GC gaps.

Pedersen has won twice (2023, 2025) and is the natural favorite on home roads. De Lie took the 2024 overall and could challenge again. Meeus, Philipsen, and Groenewegen bring sprint speed for the flat stages but need time trial form and crosswind alertness to compete for the GC. Laporte won in 2022 and has the all-around profile to combine sprint points with time trial seconds. The race consistently produces close GC results, with the time trial and one decisive wind-exposed stage usually deciding the overall.

2026 outlook

PostNord Tour of Denmark 2026 runs five stages across Denmark in late July and early August, with flat sprint stages, a time trial, and wind-exposed coastal roads creating a GC decided by seconds. Mads Pedersen won in 2025 and 2023, and the race has recently attracted De Lie (2024), Laporte (2022), and Evenepoel (2021). The GC rewards sprinter-rouleurs who can time trial and handle crosswind splits, not pure climbers.
