ADAC Cyclassics Hamburg 2026 is the summer's premier sprint classic, finishing on a wide boulevard in the city center after 200+ km of flat, wind-exposed roads. Rory Townsend defends against the fastest sprinters in the WorldTour.

ADAC Cyclassics Hamburg returns on August 16 as the only pure sprint classic on the late-summer WorldTour calendar. The 200+ km route through northern Germany is flat enough that the sprint trains control the race, but crosswinds off the Elbe basin can split the field on exposed stretches.

Rory Townsend surprised in 2025. Olav Kooij won in 2024, and Mads Pedersen took it in 2023. The finish is a high-speed boulevard sprint where leadout timing and positioning through the final city circuits decide everything.

No confirmed startlist is available yet. The field will be shaped by which sprint teams prioritize Hamburg after the Vuelta a Espana begins.

2026 outlook

ADAC Cyclassics Hamburg 2026 is the summer's marquee sprint classic: 200+ kilometers of flat to gently rolling terrain ending in a high-speed boulevard finish in Hamburg. The question is not who climbs best, but who positions best through the crosswinds and the city circuits.
