Grand Prix de Denain – Porte du Hainaut 2027

The 2026 race, the 67th, was on Thursday, March 19: 200.4 kilometers that started and finished in Denain, with thirteen cobbled sectors, two of them rated five stars. Alec Segaert, then 23, came to it a day after Nokere Koerse, where he had been caught 50 meters from the line.

The race took shape 45 kilometers from the finish, when Segaert took the wheel of Per Strand Hagenes and the two worked together and rode clear. Ten kilometers out Hagenes attacked and Segaert seemed to crack. Segaert said afterward that he was at his limit and had let a gap of 20 meters open so that Hagenes would tire himself out alone in front. He came back to Hagenes and then countered less than 3 kilometers from the line.

The peloton, led by the sprinters, closed on him in the last few hundred meters. Segaert kept two seconds on Milan Menten and Anthony Turgis, who finished second and third. Hagenes came in 41st, 1 minute 26 seconds down.
