2026 edition canceled
The 2026 Maryland Cycling Classic did not take place. The race in Baltimore was planned for September 5 to 7, Labor Day weekend, and was due to grow from a one-day race into a three-day stage race. In early July the organizers said there would be no race in 2026. The race's owner, the Sport and Entertainment Corporation of Maryland, laid off its staff and stopped operating late in 2025 with debts unpaid, and executive director Steve Brunner told Escape Collective that the organizers ran out of time to put on a 2026 race. They are trying to bring the race back over Labor Day weekend in 2027.
