Milano-Sanremo Donne 2027

In 2025 and 2026 the race started in Genoa and ran 156 kilometers along the Ligurian coast to Via Roma in Sanremo. From Voltri it used the roads of the men's race and the same finale: the three Capi, the Cipressa, 5.6 kilometers at 4.1 percent, and the Poggio, 3.7 kilometers at just under 4 percent, with the top 5.5 kilometers from the line.

The 2025 race ended in a sprint from a group of about a dozen. Lorena Wiebes won it after her teammate Lotte Kopecky had chased down a late attack by Elisa Longo Borghini. In 2026 the roles at SD Worx-Protime were the other way around. Kopecky was the first option, Wiebes said afterward, and she herself the second.

The Cipressa did the first damage. Kasia Niewiadoma-Phinney attacked twice on the climb and the group shrank to about 20. On the descent she crashed in a blind corner while leading it, 19 kilometers from the finish, and Kim Le Court-Pienaar and several others went down with her. On the Poggio Puck Pieterse attacked a kilometer from the top. Kopecky and Noemi Rüegg went with her, and Eleonora Gasparrini and Dominika Włodarczyk came across.

The five started the last 2.3 kilometers with about ten seconds on the group behind them. Kopecky opened the sprint with 200 meters to go and held off Rüegg, with Gasparrini third. Wiebes won the sprint for sixth place behind them. Rüegg had been third in 2025. "I'm getting one step closer every year," she said.
