Ronde van Vlaanderen 2027

The 2026 race, the 110th, went from Antwerp to Oudenaarde on April 5. With about 215 kilometers still to race, more than half the peloton was held up at a level crossing and the race was neutralized for a short time. On the Molenberg a group formed under the impetus of Florian Vermeersch of UAE Team Emirates-XRG, and with 78 kilometers to go it bridged to the early breakaway.

The second time up the Oude Kwaremont, Tadej Pogačar accelerated, and four riders could follow: Mathieu van der Poel, Remco Evenepoel, Wout van Aert and Mads Pedersen. Van Aert and Pedersen were gone before the top. Evenepoel, riding his first Ronde, lasted until the Paterberg.

That left Pogačar and Van der Poel, and the two worked together until the last ascent of the Oude Kwaremont. Pogačar attacked there and Van der Poel could not answer. "I was riding 650 watts and still couldn't follow," Van der Poel said. Pogačar won alone in Oudenaarde, 34 seconds ahead of Van der Poel and 1 minute 11 seconds ahead of Evenepoel, with Van Aert fourth at 2 minutes 4 seconds.

It was his third win in the Ronde, which makes him a joint record holder.
