Scheldeprijs Women 2027 preview
The women's Scheldeprijs of 2027 is on Wednesday, April 7. The men's start moves to Middelburg that year, and the women's race keeps its start and finish in Schoten. The organizer has not published the route or the start time.
The 2026 race was the sixth edition: 130 kilometers that began in Schoten at 11:40 a.m. on April 8, in bright sunshine. Seven riders formed the breakaway, took three minutes at most and were caught with 50 kilometers to go.
SD Worx-Protime then attacked several times. A late move by Femke Gerritse on the Broekstraat was brought back five kilometers from the finish, with Visma-Lease a Bike leading the chase. With two kilometers left a big crash disrupted the sprint.
Fenix-Premier Tech took control of the run-in, and Charlotte Kool finished its work on the Churchilllaan, ahead of Nienke Veenhoven and Elisa Balsamo. Kool had finished second in the race three years running before that.
