Sibiu Cycling Tour 2026: four days through the Carpathian foothills of Transylvania

Sibiu Cycling Tour 2026 runs four stages through the Carpathian hills and valleys of Transylvania. The GC rewards climbing and consistency. Matthew Riccitello defends after winning in 2025.

The Sibiu Cycling Tour has grown into a well-regarded four-stage race through the hills and valleys of Transylvania. The Carpathian terrain provides genuine climbing difficulty on the summit finishes, while the rolling stages test positioning and race intelligence. Riccitello won in 2025, and previous editions have gone to Lipowitz, Donovan, and Aleotti.

For 2026, the race should attract a mix of emerging climbers and experienced stage racers. The July timing means it runs alongside the Tour de France, so the field consists largely of riders not selected for the Tour or those building form for later targets. That can produce open, aggressive racing.
