Strade Bianche Donne 2027

In 2026 the women rode 11 gravel sectors, about 33 kilometers of white road, after two sectors from 2025 had been taken out. The longest was San Martino in Grania, 9.5 kilometers through the Crete Senesi. Then came a circuit of 30 kilometers with Colle Pinzuto and Le Tolfe, where the road reaches 18 percent, and both sectors a second time before the Via Santa Caterina and the finish on Piazza del Campo.

The 2026 race split on San Martino in Grania, where crashes broke up the field and 24 riders were left in front. Demi Vollering, the 2025 winner, and Pauline Ferrand-Prévot then lost time with mechanical trouble on Le Tolfe. With 33 kilometers to go their group, with Lotte Kopecky in it and about a minute behind, turned onto a gravel track that was not part of the course. When the riders were back on the route the gap was almost three minutes.

Eight riders started the last kilometer together. On the Via Santa Caterina Elisa Longo Borghini and Kasia Niewiadoma-Phinney attacked side by side, and Longo Borghini reached the top first with Elise Chabbey fourth. Longo Borghini, Niewiadoma-Phinney and Franziska Koch then went three abreast into the corner 300 meters from the line and none of them came out of it with speed. Chabbey came past on the inside. Niewiadoma-Phinney was second, Koch third for FDJ United-Suez, Chabbey's team, and Longo Borghini fourth.

It was the fourth second place in Siena for Niewiadoma-Phinney. Chabbey, 32, had started the day riding for Vollering. Her win ended a run of four editions that Vollering and Kopecky had shared, from 2022 to 2025.
