Volta Ciclista a Catalunya 2027 preview

The Volta a Catalunya 2027 runs from March 22 to 28. The dates were confirmed by the UCI and announced by the organizer on September 30, 2026, and no start town or stages have been published.

The 2026 race, the 105th, had seven stages from Sant Feliu de Guíxols to Barcelona, from March 23 to 29. Dorian Godon won stages 1 and 3, Magnus Cort stage 2 and Ethan Vernon stage 4, which was planned to Vallter, cut short and finished in Camprodon. Remco Evenepoel was beaten by Godon on the punchy finish of the first day and crashed in the last kilometer of the third.

Then came two summit finishes. Jonas Vingegaard won alone at La Molina/Coll de Pal on stage 5 and took the lead, and he won again the next day at Queralt and added to it.

The last stage was 95.1 kilometers in Barcelona with seven climbs of Montjuïc. Evenepoel attacked on the third of them, and it still came down to a sprint on the Avenida Maria Cristina, where Brady Gilmore beat Godon and Evenepoel for his first WorldTour win.

Vingegaard, the first Dane to win the Volta, finished 1 minute 22 seconds ahead of Lenny Martinez, who was 22 and took the young rider's classification for the second time. Florian Lipowitz was third at 1 minute 30 seconds and Evenepoel fifth.
