ZLM Tour 2026 Preview: Sprint Racing and Crosswinds Across the Netherlands
ZLM Tour 2026 brings four stages of Dutch racing from September 2 to 5 with multiple WorldTour teams confirmed. Crosswinds, bonus seconds, and sprint finales define a race where GC gaps stay tight.
The 2026 ZLM Tour runs four stages across the Netherlands, a sprint-heavy format where crosswinds on exposed roads can fracture the peloton long before any climb arrives. Multiple WorldTour teams are confirmed, including INEOS Grenadiers, Lidl-Trek, Groupama-FDJ United, EF Education-EasyPost, Bahrain Victorious, Alpecin-Premier Tech, and Movistar.
Time gaps are rarely large, so bonus seconds at intermediate sprints and stage finishes carry outsize weight. The race rewards sprinters who can survive crosswind echelons and all-rounders who can contest bonus seconds consistently across all four stages. Do not expect mountain stages or pure climbing selections. The GC is decided by wind direction, positioning, and sprint consistency.
