Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne 2027 preview

Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne 2027 is on Sunday, February 28. The start is on the Grote Markt in Kortrijk at 12:10 p.m., and the finish on the Brugsesteenweg in Kuurne is expected around 5:00 p.m. The organizer has not published the route between the two.

The 2026 race, on Sunday, March 1, went from Kortrijk to Kuurne. Seven riders formed the early breakaway and had more than four minutes. Halfway through, Tim Wellens crashed into a ditch and had to abandon with a broken collarbone. On the Mont Saint-Laurent Jasper Philipsen, who had won the race in 2025, made a strong acceleration that forced the first real selection.

The last climb, the Kluisberg, came 59.5 kilometers from the finish. The peloton broke into pieces several times and came back together each time, and a thinned group of about fifty riders rode toward Kuurne for the finish. Philipsen had a flat tire and a bike change on the way and was boxed in at the end; he finished 18th.

Visma-Lease a Bike kept control before the sprint, and in the last kilometer Christophe Laporte put his leader, Matthew Brennan, in position. Brennan, who was 20, won the sprint clearly from Luca Mozzato and Matteo Trentin, both of Tudor, a team that had started with five riders after its crashes at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad. He was the first British winner since Mark Cavendish in 2015.
