Stage 16 of the 2027 Tour de France is a 33 km individual time trial around Toulouse on Tuesday, July 20, the day after the third rest day, and the second and last race against the clock. It is flat, with about 200 meters of climbing, apart from one sharp ramp near the end.

The Côte de Pech David, 800 m at 12 percent with ramps of up to 20 percent, comes inside the last 10 km. The Tour used the same climb in the finale of its 2025 road stage in Toulouse, which Jonas Abrahamsen won from a breakaway.

The only individual time trial of the 2026 Tour was 26.1 km from Évian-les-Bains to Thonon-les-Bains, and Remco Evenepoel won it. Prudhomme, asked whether the route was built against Tadej Pogačar, said “Pogacar loves a challenge, so perhaps he’ll be the one who wins both time trials.”

This is the last time the standings can change against the clock, and the Pyrenees start two days later with the Col du Portet.

Start and finish: Toulouse

Toulouse, the prefecture of the Haute-Garonne, is the Ville Rose. The Basilica of Saint-Sernin is the largest Romanesque church left in Europe, and the Canal du Midi was built from 1666 to 1681. The Tour rests here on July 19, and in 2025 it held a road stage that started and finished in Toulouse, which Jonas Abrahamsen won.
