The course starts at the town hall of Annecy, follows the west shore of the lake to Doussard and returns along the east shore. The first 25 kilometers have little climbing. The Côte de Talloires, 1.5 kilometers at 6.5 percent, comes about 10 kilometers from the finish at Le Pâquier in Annecy.

Marlen Reusser has won the last two titles. In Montréal in 2026 she won on her 35th birthday, 40 seconds ahead of Zoe Bäckstedt, and on the way she caught Demi Vollering, who had started 90 seconds before her. Reusser was fifth at the first time check there and fastest at the finish.

Bäckstedt was ahead of Reusser at the first two time checks and lost the race on the last climb. Franziska Koch was third, 46 seconds behind Reusser, and Elisa Longo Borghini fourth.

Vollering was second in this race in 2024 and third in 2025, and eighth in Montréal six days before she won the road race. Anna van der Breggen took the silver medal in Kigali in 2025.

Cédrine Kerbaol was the best French rider in Montréal in fifth place, 1 minute 10 seconds behind Reusser.
